I really liked the book, The Magicians, by Lev Grossman. The Magicians is the first book in a three-part series. Many people say that the book, The Magicians, is like an adult-version of the Harry Potter books. I would say that I agree with them.
The Magicians is about a boy named Quentin Coldwater. One day Quentin is transported to a magical location. While he is there he discovers that he is accepted into a magical college. The magical college is named Brakebills University. Quentin happily decides to go to Brakebills University.
At Brakebills University Quentin learns magic. He goes on many adventures. He makes friends that are a part of those adventures. Quentin learns that even though he has magic his problems aren’t entirely solved. In fact, magic doesn’t solve everything. Sometimes it is even a hindrance, not a boon.
The Magicians is a great novel. It is a smart and an edgy book. It is filled with magic, friendship, and even love. I give this novel a 9/10 rating. I really enjoyed this book. I thought it was a wild ride. I will definitely pick-up the other two books in this book series.
That’s it for this book review.
Until next time…
Always with infinite love,
Selena London
I haven’t read the book, but this looks interesting. Keep it up.
