My thoughts and opinions on… She’s the Worst

I read a really great book recently. The book is named She’s the Worst. The woman named Lauren Spieller is the author of this book.

She’s the Worst is a book about two sisters: April and Jenn. The two sisters used to be close. However, as the two grew older the two girls grew apart. The girls love one another… but it seems like the two can never get on the same page. They are two ships passing in the night. When April sees green, Jenn sees red. When April sees, “Go,” Jenn sees, “Stop.”

April loves soccer, her boy-of-the-moment, and having fun. Jenn is the serious and the studious type. She has a steady boyfriend that means the world to her. Jenn is also about to go to college.

April decides to ask Jenn to complete a list of things to do in the city that they live in… the city of Los Angeles. The two girls wrote the list years ago as kids. Now that Jenn is about to go to college, April feels that it is the right time to complete the list together.

April and Jenn travel around Los Angeles together. April hopes to connect with Jenn as the they complete the two’s list. However, things don’t go as planned. Actually, it seems like nothing that April wants goes as planned. The two girls fight, argue, and bicker the entire time they are together. Everything seems to blow up in the two’s faces.

On top of all of that, Jenn has a secret that she hides from everyone in her family… including April. Will Jenn be able to confide in her sister before the day ends? Well, you’ll find out if you read this book.

I really enjoyed She’s the Worst. The author, Lauren Spieller, writes the chapters of the book from both girls’ points-of-view. I thought that this was a great way to write the book since it is all about the two girls’ different perspectives.

The way April sees things is definitely not the way Jenn sees things… and vice versa. The author’s choice to write the chapters of the book from one of the girls’ points-of-view, then, the other, encapsulates what the entire book is all about.

At the end of the day though, April and Jenn love each other dearly. And that is what binds this book together… the two’s relationship.

I give this book a 5-star rating. It is a great book that I think people will be able to relate to if you have a sister or a brother.

It is also just a great book.
