Book News: Controversy arises over a Winnie-the-Pooh book that aims to protect kids in a school shooting

In Texas, a book was printed aimed at children that hopes to teach kids how to stay safe at the event of a school shooting. The book is named, “Stay Safe,” and is written by Chief Ken Adcox and Brittany Adcox-Flores.

The school district in Texas gave these books out to an elementary school. Many parents were shocked when they heard about the book. They disagreed with the teachers’s decision to pass out this book to the various classes.

“The book wasn’t something I wanted,” said a parent. “It’s unsolicited advice.”

“When danger is near, fear not,” says Winnie-the-Pooh in Stay Safe. “Hide like Pooh does until the police show up.”

The Texas school district’s decision to give Stay Safe to children is definitely a controversial idea. However, some may feel that this book is something that is unexpected but necessary in this dangerous day-and-age.

My thoughts and opinions on… Family of Liars

The next book that I read is the book named Family of Liars by the author named E. Lockhart. Family of Liars is a prequel to the book named We Were Liars that is written by the same author. However, the book, Family of Liars, was written after the original book named We Were Liars.

Family of Liars is about the Cadence’s aunt named Carrie (Caroline) Sinclair. Cadence Sinclair was the main character in the book named We Were Liars. In this novel, Carrie Sinclair is a young woman. Carrie re-visits the small island named Beechwood every summer with her family just like Cadence did in the original novel… an island that the Sinclair family owns. Carrie visits Beechwood with her two sisters named Penny (Penelope) and Bess (Elizabeth) every summer.

This book is all about one particular summer on Beechwood. That summer, Carrie and the Sinclair family have guests staying with them. The guests are three boys named George, Major, and, finally, a charismatic boy named Pfefferman… otherwise nicknamed, “Pfeff.” That summer is a summer of fun, excitement… and danger. On Beechwood Island, nothing is ever as it is seems.

I liked the book Family of Liars more than its counterpart. I like that the book, Family of Liars, was written in a more cohesive and in a more structured way. I was pulled into Carrie’s world just like I was pulled into Cadence’s world. This time, however, I expected the mystery. And I got exactly what I expected.

Family of Liars highlights a world of summer parties, beach trips, and boat rides over the water. It highlights the world of the privileged class doing just what they do best… enjoying life. Carrie is a smart voice that paints you a picture of her world in an almost quiet and in a subdued way. You want to learn more and more about Beechwood, the Sinclair’s, and Beechwood’s three-boy-crew as you turn each page. Once again, you are drawn into the Sinclair life and into another Sinclair family summer.

Family of Liars is a novel that I couldn’t put down. I was enthralled by Carrie, the Sinclairs, and the three visiting boys. I grew to love Pfefferman and the boys. I wanted to learn more about Carrie’s deceased sister named Rosemary. I turned each page eager to learn more about everyone and eager to uncover the mystery that I knew was hidden there somewhere.

E. Lockhart’s Family of Liars is a strong following novel to We Were Liars. I give this book a 4-star rating, just like the original novel.

Book News: XO, Kitty is released on Netflix

You may have heard of the popular book and the popular movie series named To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before. The book series is written by the author named Jenny Han. There are three movies based off of the books that are available on Netflix.

Now, a new sequel to those movies is available on Netflix. The sequel is named XO, Kitty. The new televisions show, XO, Kitty, is all about Kitty Covey. The original book series and the movie series starred the character name Lara Jean Covey. The new television show is all about Kitty Covey. Kitty Covey is Lara Jean’s little sister.

In this sequel, Kitty Covey is on her own journey looking for love.

My thoughts and opinions on… We Were Liars

Today, I want to talk to you about the book named We Were Liars by the author named E. Lockhart. We Were Liars is a really popular book that many people may have heard of. It’s a mysterious book with a lot of questions… and by the end of the book you definitely get the answers that you were looking for.

We Were Liars is about a girl named Cadence Sinclair (or Cady for short.) Cady is a lucky girl. She is rich. She is wealthy. Her family owns numerous summer homes on a small island named Beechwood that the Sinclair family all own. Cadence goes to Beechwood every summer. She spends her entire summer there with her family… her two cousins named Mirren and Johnny, and a family friend named Gat.

Something happened on Beechwood on what Cady calls “summer fifteen.” She can’t recall what actually took place. All she knows is that something huge happened… something that shapes her entire being, her entire soul, and her entire future.

We Were Liars is a peak into Cady’s world. It is a peak into the world of the obscenely rich. It is a peak into the world of the obscenely privileged. It is also a peak into the world of a girl who was destroyed by that world.

There are many good things about this book. You become enthralled by the mystery in this novel as you turn every page. You wait on baited breath to see what happened to Cady. You want to learn more about Cady’s family and her family friend. Sadly, you never get a whole picture of those characters. Honestly, I think this book would be better if there was more attention paid to them.

Another thing to note about this book is the book’s writing style. It is not written in the typical way that most books are written. There are times when the writing is like a stanza in a song. There are times when the book turns into excerpts from a fairy-tale story. There are also flash-backs to the past. I think that E. Lockhart’s writing style made this book a weaker book in the long run. The author may be trying to do something with the writing style to emphasize the mystery in the novel…. however, I feel that this style held back We Were Liars instead of helping it.

However, I did enjoy We Were Liars. The gripping mystery moves you forward from page-to-page. For that, I give this book a 4-star rating.

Book News: The trailer for The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is released

The Hunger Games is a popular young adult book series written by the author named Suzanne Collins. The Hunger Games is a book series that spans three books. It was also made into a series of three popular movies.

There was a prequel of The Hunger Games book series written by the same author. The book is named The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. There is a new movie that will be released based off of that book.

This new movie based off of the book will be out on November 17, 2023. This is exciting news.

My thoughts and opinions on… Before I Let Go

I read the book Before I Let Go by the author named Marieke Nijkamp. Before I Let Go was not one of my usual reads. It was a chilling book. However, I felt strong feelings toward it. Read more to find out why:

Before I Let Go is a book about two girls: Kyra and Corey. The two best-friends live in a small and a secluded town in Alaska named Lost Creek. The town is difficult to get to. It is a close-knit place. Everyone knows everybody. But that does not mean that Kyra and Corey fit in.

Corey moves away from Lost Creek and does not feel alienated anymore in her new home. However, Kyra remains at Lost Creek. Corey promises to visit Kyra as soon as she can. But Kyra dies before that happens.

Corey returns to Lost Creek to say good-bye to Kyra. And she wants to know why Kyra died.

Corey soon discovers that there is something more going on in Lost Creek. Something unlike anything Corey has ever dealt with. Corey questions people in the town about Kyra’s death. What was the cause of her death? Did the town finally accept Kyra as one of their own before her demise?

Everyone in Lost Creek is adamant that Kyra was given the gift of peace and love before her death. Corey is not so sure.

This book is a mysterious book that does not start out as a mystery. At first, you are drawn into Kyra and Corey. You want to know more about the two and the two’s relationship with the people in Lost Creek. Finally, Corey begins to show you more about the town. There is something eerie going on in Lost Creek. And as the book unravels you hope to discover why.

At the same time, you want to know more about Kyra. Something about Kyra was special. And it seems like Lost Creek finally figured that out… or not.

Before I Let Go is a dark novel about friendship. You feel strong feelings toward Kyra and Corey. You want to know more about Kyra and you want to see what happened the days before her death. You want to discover more about Corey. Why did she leave her friend? How does she feel about the loss of Kyra?

Before I Let Go is filled with strong characters and chills you to the bone. You wait impatiently for an answer to the numerous questions in front of you as you turn each page.

This book is dark. It is shocking. It is a story that starts off as a book about friendship and progresses to something more sinister.

I enjoyed this book despite its dark tone. I give it a 4-star rating.

Book News: There will be a Harry Potter television series on Max

Harry Potter is a popular young adult book series by the woman named J.K. Rowling. It was turned into a series of eight movies. Now, a new Harry Potter television show is in the works by the television channel named Max. Max was previously known as HBO Max before HBO Max was joined with the Discovery+ television channel.

The Harry Potter television series will cover all seven of the Harry Potter books. An entire new cast will be hired to play Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley.

This is what was said about the new Harry Potter television series:

“The stories from each of Rowling’s Harry Potter books will become a decade-long series produced with the same epic craft, love and care this global franchise is known for. The series will feature a new cast to lead a new generation of fandom, full of the fantastic detail, much loved characters and dramatic locations that Harry Potter fans have loved for over 25 years.

Each season will be authentic to the original books and bring Harry Potter and these incredible adventures to new audiences around the world, while the original, classic and beloved films will remain at the core of the franchise and available to watch globally.”

J.K. Rowling will be the executive producer of the new Harry Potter television show.

There is no news yet about when the Harry Potter television show will be released on Max. At the moment, the television series is in its pre-production stage.

My thoughts and opinions on… Not My Problem

I read the book Not My Problem by the author named Ciara Smyth. Honestly, this book is not one of my favorites.

Not My Problem is about a girl named Aideen. Aideen lives in Ireland. She does poorly in school and has one close friend. One day, Aideen stumbles onto her nemesis at a stairwell in school. Her nemesis is a girl who is named Meabh Kowalska. Meabh is upset because she has too many extra-curriculars on her plate. Aideen comes up with a surprising answer to her problem. Aideen volunteers to push Meabh down a flight of stairs so that Meabh gets injured. As a result of this, she will not need to do so many extra-curriculars. This incident inspires Aideen to help out her other classmates at school with his or her own issues.

Not My Problem seems like a good book at first. However, Aideen is a flippant and a out-of-touch character. She doesn’t seem to have a care in the world… and it is hard to sympathize with a person like that. The idea of pushing your nemesis down a flight of stairs is a bad idea. There is no clear explanation to why Aideen wants to help out her other classmates as the story continues. Aideen has her own problems in her life that she should focus on. It seems like Aideen simply wants attention.

Another thing that I did not like about Aideen is her relationship with Meabh. After Aideen “helps out” Meabh, the two grow closer. Sometimes it seems like Aideen uses Meabh. I also did not like the relationship the two had with one another at the end of the book.

Not My Problem seems like a book with a lot of promise… at first. However, I disliked the book by the time that I finished it.

Overall, I give this book a 3-star rating.

Book News: Blake Lively will play Lily Bloom on the movie version of the book named It Ends with Us

Colleen Hoover is a popular writer that has written books like It Ends with Us and Reminders of Him. Colleen’s hugely popular novel named It Ends with Us will be made into a movie. Now, there is great news on that front. Blake Lively will star as the main character named Lily Bloom on the movie version of It Ends with Us.

Blake Lively is well-known for her television role on the television series named Gossip Girl. This new movie role is different than Blake’s past television role as Serena van der Woodsen on Gossip Girl. However, we are sure that she will do amazing as Lily Bloom.

This is exciting news for any Colleen Hoover fans or for any Gossip Girl fans as well. I can’t wait to see her in this film.

Book News: After Ever Happy is released on Netflix

The book series named After is a book series written by the author named Anna Todd. There are five books in the series. They are: After, After We Collided, After We Fell, After Ever Happy, and, finally, Before.

These books were turned into a series of movies on the Netflix television streaming service. The books star the actress named Josephine Langford as the main character named Tessa (Theresa) Young. They also star the actor named Hero Fiennes Tiffin as the character named Hardin Scott.

In the book series and in the movies, Tessa and Hardin fall madly-in-love. However, their are always complications on the two’s journey together.

The movie based off of the book named Happy Ever Happy is now available on Amazon Prime and on the Netflix television streaming service. If you enjoy these movies, then, you should check-out the books, too. They are really great.
