Little Women

What’s not to love about the book, Little Women, by Louisa May Alcott? There’s romance, there’s drama and there’s stories about the daily struggles of life throughout the book. So, let’s start at the beginning.

Little Women is about four sisters. The four sisters are named Meg March, Jo March, Amy March and Beth March. Meg March is the sensible and the kind oldest sister. Jo March is the spirited writer. Amy March is the young and the frivolous sister. Beth March is the soft-hearted youngest sister. These four women live and work in the town of Concord, Massachusetts. The four girls face the difficulties of the Civil War in that time. The four sisters must struggle to live with little income because their father is off fighting in the war.

The heart of the book is the love shared between the four sisters. The sisters love, share and learn from one another. They overcome trials and obstacles by supporting each other.

Another important part of the book is the romance between Jo March, Amy March and Theodore Laurence. Laurie (which is the nickname for Theodore Laurence) is in love with the strong and the smart Jo March. However, Jo rejects Laurie’s proposal. Amy, who always loved Laurie, is the woman who wins Laurie in the end.

There are some wonderful things about Little Women. The book is filled with romance, laughter and life lessons. I suggest that you pick up the book and give it a try.

That’s it for now. Until then…

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before

I loved the book, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, by Jenny Han. To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before is a book about a girl named Lara Jean Covey. Lara Jean is an average sixteen-year-old girl. She is half-Asian. She likes to watch tv and to hang out with her sisters, Margot and Kitty. When Lara Jean doesn’t spend time with her sisters she does other things… other things like write love letters. Lara Jean wrote five love letters to five soul-consuming, life-altering crushes in her life. She kept these letters in a hatbox in her room.

But, one day something strange happens. The different crushes she wrote love letters to approach Lara Jean with the letters in hand. Somehow the letters were sent out. Her secret crushes aren’t so secret anymore.

What’s a girl to do?

Lara Jean has two crushes that cause chaos in her life. The first crush is a boy named Josh Sanderson. Josh is Margot’s ex-boyfriend. Lara Jean’s second crush is Peter Kavinsky. Peter is a boy that Lara Jean liked since the seventh grade.

One day at school Josh approaches Lara Jean at school to talk. Lara Jean goes up to Peter and kisses him so that Josh doesn’t think she still cares for him.

Who does Lara Jean pick? Which crush is the right one for her?

In the end I think that Lara Jean should end up with Peter. Peter and Lara Jean have great chemistry. The two truly care for each other. They are the best couple in the book.

Who would you pick?

All right, that’s it for this post. Stay tuned for my next update. Until then…
